  A favorite go-to for office lunches, especially of our monthly Birthday Luncheons.  Of course, only when the those in the Birthday Spot Light make the request.  I have and I shall continue.
  
  The Sushi is a my favorite and always fresh and plentiful.  Recently, our office move much closer, about a block, so when the hanker strikes, I've got no excuses.

  When you want Hibachi in Rocky Hill, the place to go is Asian Bistro - it's newish, large, spacious, and serves up some mean drinks.  So why the three star rating? customer service stinks.  It can make or break a business and this business needs to do some serious training to make sure their customers and getting the best experience possible.  Skip to the CONs section below for an explanation, or read through to see the PROs first.
  
  PROs:  Lets start with their sake sangria.  This drink is only $5 but it is large and delicious.  It goes down very easy. I highly recommend you try it.
  I've done both hibachi and regular dining... but this review only focuses on the hibachi.   There isn't much variation to the hibachi - you know pretty much what you are getting.  This can be a good thing or a bad thing, but I think it's a good thing especially if you have certain expectations.  The chef cooked the food perfectly.  I had scallops and they were delicious.  Fried rice wasn't oily at all and it was flavorful.  Pretty much the entire meal was very good and we had plenty of leftovers to go hone with.
  
  CONs: Unfortunately there are many... and since my review covers all aspects of the dining experience, I have to address the non-food parts also.
  
  So when you do hibachi, you have certain expectations - the same lame jokes - the big flames and customer interactions.  Our chef felt like he was soo tired of doing all the same routine he just gave up.  He still went through the motions but didn't speak much.  Our dining partners (random family we were seated with) even commented that they had to yell out the jokes for him.  Is it a big deal? No. But again, expectations.
  
  The biggest problem I had was with our waitress.  She made many assumptions that did not go in our favor or in the other  family's favor.   She assumed we were all one big family (why? No idea as we had reservations and they were a walk-in).  She assumed my little kids were eating off the adult menu even tho I specifically pointed to the kids section of menu to order their food. Needless to say we got a huge check for the whole table at the end.  When we asked that she split it up her reply was "you can probably just figure it out who owes what".    The check was wrong as it was ... she charged us two extra meals and charge adults meals for three kids.  She also said that she always assumes parents are ordering off of the adult menu unless clearly specified not...I am not sure how clearer I could have been.  Long story short... after half an hour of going back and forth with the manager... we finally got the check situation sorted... but nothing to compensate us for our time and frustration.  
  
  I will probably hit up the place in Cromwell that opened up the next time I want hibachi until this place sorts out their personnel.

  I came here with a friend after work to enjoy their great happy hour deals. There was still plenty of parking when we got there around 5pm and happy hour was going until 6pm. Drinks were buy one and get one for a penny and there were plenty of apps for $4 and $5. The place got pretty busy so service was a little slow. However our waitress seemed very busy and was extremely friendly.
  I highly recommend the sake sangria, they have it in red and white!

  Always fun when you sit with strangers and break bread. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The hibachi chef was fun but could use a little more flair in his routine. The meal was tasty and delicious. The one aspect that needs work is service. From the spilled drink to forgotten orders the server appeared nervous and unfamiliar with her duties. She also appeared rushed although I believe we were her only table. All in all though an enjoyable night

  I tried their spicy sushi combo. It is very good. Specially the salmon roll is really tasty. A high quality sushi experience.
  I also tried their hibachi beef steak. It's really tender, juicy and delicious. One of the best I've had. Strongly recommend.
